Bridges function in a similar manner to crowns except that they have the benefit of adding a missing tooth, hence ‘bridging the gap’. A bridge requires preparation of the anchor teeth in the same manner as if were to receive a crown.  A bridge will require 2 appointments to complete. A temporary will be placed. • to replace a missing tooth or teeth
• to help with chewing
• to avoid using a partial denture
• in the case where a dental implant is not recommended
